The Two Orders

By Magister Aldwyn Hale

Pathfinders —

The Order has kept a great labour quiet these past weeks, and today I may finally speak it plainly: the world is reborn.

Two paths, one Way

Where three banners flew, two now stand. The Order of the Unseen Way walks two paths henceforth:

  • The Emberkin — the living dawn. Human-born, fire at their backs, bold and relentless. Captain Kestrel still calls them to the horizon.
  • The Tidewatchers — the watchful dead. The grave-touched who never stopped seeing: skeletons who kept their patience, mummies who kept their counsel, spectres who kept their watch. Sable the Watcher keeps their still water, and the Order remembers those who see.

And the Stonetreaders? They lay down their banner with full honour. Their steady folk have dissolved into the two orders that remain — some to the dawn, some to the dusk — and Wren the Wayfinder has walked her last road in the Order’s service. One step out the door, every day; the mountains remember, and so do we.

The war changes with them. Two orders now contest the realm territory by territory, front by front, season by season. Every find you bring back pushes the line for your kin.

A pathfinder truly your own

The Forge has been rebuilt from the anvil up. Your explorer is no longer a likeness but a body in the world — choose your build, your face, your hair, living or grave-touched, and then dress it from hundreds of equipment pieces that show on your character wherever you go. The relic you win on the road is the relic on your back. The reliquary itself has swollen with hundreds of new relics to find, wear, and hand down.

All pathfinders begin anew

A world reborn asks a clean page, and it has been turned. The alpha begins anew: every pathfinder starts fresh, from the first find to the first oath — your account and your standing with us remain, but the character you walked as does not. Your deeds in the old world shaped this one — that was their purpose, and we are grateful for every one of them. The Ledger opens blank so that the two orders may write their first season fairly, side by side from the same dawn.

So open the app and swear again. The oath comes first now — before ever you take a face — and it decides what you are made of: the living, or those who watch beyond them. Then take your form, and walk.

Walk well, pathfinder. The Way is one; the paths are two.
