The game, plainly

Outdare is a living game. Features may change, break, or vanish; quests, rewards, and the Copper prices of what the Quartermaster sells are rebalanced as the world grows, and we may suspend or end any part of the service. In-game Copper and items have no real-world value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are licensed to you for use inside Outdare rather than owned. Copper you have paid for is credited to your purse and stays yours to spend — a rebalance may change what things cost, but it will not take purchased Copper away, except where the purchase is refunded or charged back (see Refunds below) or an account is closed for breaking these terms.

Your account

You need to be at least 13 to play. Keep your sign-in method secure — you are responsible for what happens under your account. One account per pathfinder; accounts are personal and may not be sold or shared.

Patronages, Copper, and payment

Outdare is free to play and carries no advertising, ever. Two optional purchases exist, both made through the App Store or Google Play:

• Patronages — auto-renewing monthly subscriptions in four tiers: Seeker (€1.99), Pathwarden (€3.99), Worldwalker (€5.99), and Grandmaster (€14.99) per month. Every tier widens the day and sharpens the eye — more completions, more proofs, more pardons, extra hero XP — and Pathwarden and above open extra quest slots. Worldwalker (500) and Grandmaster (1,500) also add a Copper stipend, credited on each renewal — that is, from the second month onward, not on the first purchase. Seeker and Pathwarden carry no stipend. The tier's boons last for as long as the Patronage is active. Prices are set by your app store in your local currency, taxes included, and may vary by region.
• Copper packs — one-off purchases of in-game Copper (300, 1,000, 2,200, or 4,000), credited to your purse once the store confirms the purchase.

How billing works. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. A Patronage renews automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends; your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before that. You can view, change, or cancel a Patronage at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings — not from inside Outdare. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the tier's boons remain until the period you have already paid for runs out.

Refunds. Apple and Google are the merchants of record, so refund requests go to them under their terms. Where the law gives you a right of withdrawal for digital content, you exercise it through the store you bought from. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, what it bought is undone: the Copper it credited is removed from your purse — limited to the Copper you still hold, if you have already spent some — and a refunded Patronage ends at once rather than at the end of the period.

No coin buys the Ledger. Nothing you can purchase raises your rank. Standing on the Ledger of Finds is earned from deeds and streaks alone, for everyone — that is a promise, not a setting. Copper and boons speed the road; they never buy its end.

Conduct on the Way

• Play in the real world, safely and lawfully. Quests happen outside. Stay aware of your surroundings, respect private property and local rules, and never put yourself or others at risk to complete a quest. You undertake real-world activity at your own judgement and risk.
• Play fair. No cheating, spoofing, automation, exploiting bugs, or manipulating verification (including submitting photos of screens or printouts). The Ledger is a contest — we may remove scores, items, or accounts that undermine it.
• Carry yourself with honour. Outdare has no free-text chat — pathfinders exchange fixed gestures, never typed messages. The one thing you write that others see is your pathfinder's name: it must not carry harassment, hate, or a way to contact you elsewhere, and we filter it at creation. Players can report and block one another from any profile; moderators may remove names and accounts.
• Your photos. Submit only photos you took yourself for quest verification. Don't include other people in identifiable form. You keep ownership; you grant us the licence needed to verify quests and operate the game.

Ending the journey

You may stop playing at any time and request account deletion by writing to the address below (also available in the app under Settings → Delete account); we complete deletion requests within 14 days. Deleting your account does not cancel a Patronage — cancel that in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings first, or it will keep renewing. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms.

What we're not liable for

Outdare is provided “as is”, without warranties, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost progress or items, or for injury or loss arising from real-world activity you choose to undertake while playing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Who we are, changes & contact

Outdare is run by Andrei Scripcariu, Wijnand Nuijenstraat 122, 1061 WB Amsterdam, the Netherlands. That is the trader you are contracting with; Apple and Google remain the sellers of record for anything you buy through their stores.
